Meetings were held in Tashkent with experts from nine countries ahead of the media forum
Master classes and creative meetings were held at seven higher education institutions in Tashkent as part of the International Media Forum “Islamic Civilization: New Perspective — New Discoveries.”
The events brought together 12 international experts from nine countries — Russia, Italy, Türkiye, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea, Austria, Azerbaijan, and Sweden.
The discussions focused on modern journalism and the media industry, documentary filmmaking, artificial intelligence, publishing, cultural diplomacy, tourism, and ways of presenting historical and cultural heritage to international audiences through modern media platforms.
International experts held open discussions with university students, sharing insights into media practices in their respective countries, the impact of emerging technologies on journalism, and contemporary approaches to engaging with audiences.
In particular, Vera Ilina, producer at DIVI TV, presented the documentary “New Universe. Islamic Civilization Center” and the trailer for the film “Towards the Sources of Ancient Civilizations.” Muhammet Agah Karlıağa, Chief Director of Tarih TV, spoke about contemporary approaches to producing documentaries on historical events and the lives of great scholars.
Mario Taddei, a specialist at the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Milan, spoke about Leonardo da Vinci’s codices, his machines and inventions, and the influence of ancient Arab science on European scientific thought. Particular attention was also given to the scientific inventions described in Muradi’s “Book of Secrets.”
During sessions devoted to the future of the media industry, Raza Syed, founder of The London Post, shared his views on the development of journalism in the digital age, audience trust, and the professional requirements facing modern journalists. Lee Jungwoo, a representative of Aju News Corporation, introduced participants to the experience of South Korean media and approaches to engaging with global digital audiences.
In the field of publishing, Charlotte Kramer, President of Müller & Schindler, discussed the changes taking place in traditional publishing under the influence of digital content and new media. Hasanbey Kondu, Chairman of the Board of Mega Basım, spoke about promoting the heritage of Islamic civilization through modern book publishing, as well as the potential of artificial intelligence in book production and publishing processes.
The meetings also addressed cultural diplomacy, international information cooperation, and tourism, with participants exchanging views on opportunities to widely promote the historical and cultural potential of Uzbekistan and Central Asia to international audiences through media platforms.
Thus, the meetings organized ahead of the media forum served as an important platform for establishing direct dialogue between Uzbek youth and representatives of the international media and creative industries, exchanging international experience, and identifying new areas of cooperation.
As a reminder, the forum’s main events are being held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, bringing together nearly 300 representatives of the media and expert community from around 50 countries, including executives of media companies, news agencies and television channels, representatives of international publications and digital platforms, as well as experts and professionals from the creative industries.
