Ahead of the international media forum “Islamic Civilization: New Perspective — New Discoveries,” a briefing for local and international journalists was held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

During the briefing, it was announced that the forum would take place in Tashkent and Samarkand, bringing together around 300 representatives of the media and expert community from nearly 50 countries. Participants include executives of media companies, news agencies, and television channels, as well as journalists, producers, scholars, and creative industry professionals.

Media representatives were briefed on the forum’s key program areas, plenary sessions, international media projects, documentary films, publishing initiatives, and digital solutions.

On August 24, a number of professional and educational events were also held. Universities in Tashkent hosted creative meetings with leading professionals in documentary filmmaking, television, modern media, and digital technologies.

On the same day, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan signed a joint program to create a media platform for young journalists. The project is aimed at studying and promoting the country’s cultural and historical heritage, as well as engaging young journalists in the creation of modern media content. A media tour to the Sevimli TV channel was also organized.

The day’s program concluded with a presentation of the film “Whispers of Wisdom,” featuring Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley. The project is dedicated to the heritage of Islamic civilization, the region’s great figures of science and culture, their discoveries, and their impact on the advancement of knowledge.

The main program of the Media Forum will begin on August 25 at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. It will open with an official ceremony attended by representatives of the country’s leadership and international guests.

One of the forum’s first international speakers will be Euronews CEO and Editorial Director Claus Strunz. He will deliver a special presentation titled “The new proximity: connecting Europe and Central Asia through culture, media and ideas — the Islamic Civilization Center in the global information space.”

The forum program includes the participation of representatives from CNN International Commercial, Euronews, BBC Studios, TRT World, Oman TV, Oman Observer, Tunisia’s TAP news agency, Yemen’s Saba news agency, and other international media outlets.

The international media forum “Islamic Civilization: New Perspective — New Discoveries” will take place in Tashkent and Samarkand from August 24 to 28. The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan will serve as the forum’s main venue.
