Phil Nelson, Executive Vice President of CNN International Commercial, recognized the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan as an important global platform for bringing the country’s rich history and cultural heritage to audiences around the world. In a video address to participants of the International Media Forum, he praised CNN’s cooperation with the Center, noting that through this partnership, stories about Uzbekistan are being brought to the network’s vast international audience.

In his address to the forum participants, he said that CNN was proud to be the media partner of the Islamic Civilization Center and noted that CNN had been following with great interest the development of the Center, built as an initiative conceived by the President of Uzbekistan, as well as its multi-year project aimed at showcasing the region’s rich culture and history.

Phil Nelson expressed his desire to visit the Center in person, explore its unique historical artifacts, and see firsthand the great legacy of science, literature, and architecture showcased there.

“Through our partnership, together we are telling the story of Uzbekistan to CNN’s vast global audience,” he said in his video address.

He noted that CNN is bringing stories about Uzbekistan and the Islamic Civilization Center to international audiences, helping to further increase global interest in visiting the Center.

Phil Nelson also warmly congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence and expressed his hope to visit the Center in person in the future.
