“From historical heritage to a new renaissance”: Uzbekistan’s role in promoting the ideas of Islamic civilization discussed at the media forum
The fourth plenary session of the international media forum “Islamic Civilization: New Perspective — New Discoveries” was held under the theme “From historical heritage to a new renaissance: Uzbekistan’s role in promoting the ideas of Islamic civilization.” The discussions focused on presenting modern Uzbekistan on the international stage, educational initiatives, book projects, and the role of media in public engagement.
Abdusaid Kuchimov, Director General of the Uzbekistan National News Agency, delivered a presentation on “Peace, tolerance, and enlightenment in the media landscape.”
Charlotte Kramer, President of Mueller & Schindler publishing house, presented the international publishing projects “New Uzbekistan” and “New Uzbekistan through the eyes of the world: an era of transformation.” Ashirbek Muminov, IRCICA Representative in Uzbekistan, presented the book “Shavkat Mirziyoyev: An Enlightened Leader.” The program also included a video address by IRCICA Director General Mahmud Erol Kılıç.
Rustam Jabborov, Academic Secretary of the Islamic Civilization Center, presented special book projects. This was followed by an open international discussion on the theme “From state initiatives to public dialogue: how can modern audiences be engaged in enlightenment?”
The discussion will bring together representatives of media outlets and media organizations from Egypt, the UAE, South Korea, Hungary, Belarus, China, Montenegro, and Uzbekistan. Participants include representatives of Global News Media Group Dubai, The Korea Times, Daily News Hungary, Helló Magyar, Belarus 24 TV channel, Gazeta.uz, The Standard, Radio and Television of Montenegro, as well as executives of Uzbekistan’s national media outlets and industry organizations.
The main venue of the forum is the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. It brought together 300 representatives of the media and expert community from nearly 50 countries, including executives of media companies, news agencies, and television channels, as well as journalists, producers, scholars, and creative industry professionals.
