On August 27, a ceremony was held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan to present the “35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” commemorative badge to more than 200 representatives of the religious and educational sphere. The recipients have worked effectively in the field for many years and made a significant contribution to ensuring spiritual stability in the country, educating the younger generation in the spirit of national and universal values, and carrying out educational and awareness-raising activities among the public. They included Muslim scholars and representatives of other religious denominations, academics, faculty members of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, employees of the Islamic Civilization Center, and other specialists in the field.

The commemorative badge presentation ceremony was attended by Muzaffar Komilov, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Religious and Educational Affairs; Sodiq Toshboyev, Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs; His Eminence Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar, Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and Mufti; Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan; and Orifkhon Zokirov, a senior official of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The ceremony was opened with introductory remarks by Muzaffar Komilov, Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan on Religious and Educational Affairs and Rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. In his remarks, he particularly emphasized the scale of the reforms implemented in the religious and educational sphere over the past decade.

The Presidential Adviser congratulated his colleagues at the ceremony and wished them success in their future endeavors.

“Today, tens of thousands of people are working in the religious and educational sphere. This is a large community comprising specialists, scholars, imams, and educators. We are all members of one large family. Therefore, it is particularly important to preserve our unity, mutual respect, sense of responsibility to society, and commitment to the values we serve.

Our scholars and religious leaders must continue to contribute to strengthening peace and stability in our country, fostering harmony, and enhancing public enlightenment. We must value the opportunities that have been created today and live up to the trust placed in us. Once again, I sincerely congratulate all our compatriots who have received this prestigious state award today. I wish you good health, prosperity, and continued success. May the Almighty bless your good deeds and your efforts for the prosperity of our people and our country,” said Muzaffar Komilov.

It should be noted that nearly 500 people working in the religious and educational sphere were awarded the commemorative badge established in honor of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.
