Indonesian Minister of Hajj and Umrah: “Uzbekistan holds a special place in the hearts of the Indonesian people”

The Indonesian delegation became closely acquainted with the historical sources, scholarly heritage, and cultural values brought together at the Center. The guests were particularly impressed by the exhibitions’ coherent presentation of the formation of Islamic civilization, its development across different historical periods, and its influence on world civilization.
Dr. Mochammad Irfan Yusuf highly praised the concept of the Center, describing it as an important scholarly and educational institution that helps people better understand history.
“Through this museum, we can gain a deeper understanding of Islamic history, how it emerged, and how it developed over time. I think this is a truly remarkable idea, because studying history is extremely important for us. By learning lessons from the past, we can chart the right path and lay a strong foundation for future generations. Therefore, the younger generation in particular should have a deep knowledge of our history and such a rich heritage.
Uzbekistan holds a special place in the hearts of the Indonesian people. This land has produced many great scholars. We deeply value the scholarly legacy of the world-renowned Imam Bukhari. In Indonesia, many students study Sahih Bukhari. Our country also has many followers of the Naqshbandiyya Sufi order. I believe I need to visit Uzbekistan again to gain a closer understanding of its rich scholarly and spiritual heritage and history.”
In his view, the museum exhibitions provide a comprehensive understanding not only of the development of Islamic history, but also of the transformations that took place across different periods. This approach makes it possible to understand history not merely as a sequence of dates and events, but as a source of experience from which lessons can be drawn for the present day.
It is especially important to pass this knowledge on to the younger generation. A generation that knows its history understands its scholarly and spiritual roots and is able to draw conclusions for the future based on the experience of the past. In this regard, the Center’s scholarly and educational mission is also attracting particular interest among international visitors.
Another important aspect of relations between Uzbekistan and Indonesia is reflected in their shared scholarly and spiritual heritage. The Indonesian people’s interest in Uzbekistan is closely connected, above all, with the legacy of the great scholars associated with this land.
