Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Hajj Organizers Association: “This Center is the cultural heart of Uzbekistan”

10.12.2025, 19:321891

As part of important steps aimed at developing tourism in Uzbekistan, particularly at promoting Islamic culture and the heritage of Sufism more widely on the international stage, the “Naqshbandiyya” Festival is gaining attention for its growing international prestige. On the occasion of the festival, more than 60 tour operators and tourism professionals representing 14 leading travel agencies from Indonesia visited Uzbekistan and toured the Islamic Civilization Center, where the majestic atmosphere, modern technologies, and presentation of historical heritage sparked great interest and admiration. An экскурсия was organized for the delegation, during which they were provided with detailed information about the Center’s exhibitions covering 3,000 years of history, manuscripts, artifacts, interactive cultural and educational halls, and sections dedicated to the main Renaissance schools.

During the visit, guests were introduced to the Center’s core ideological directions, educational reforms implemented in line with President Mirziyoyev’s principle that “Human dignity is the highest value,” and large-scale projects aimed at bringing Uzbekistan’s historical and scholarly heritage to the global arena. Indonesian tour operators particularly highly praised the vivid presentation of the Second Renaissance period, the scientific school of Ulugh Beg, and the legacy of great scholars such as Ibn Sina and Beruni through modern design and digital technologies.

Mita Tanjung, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Muslim Hajj Organizers Association:

“This Center is a place that brings together the full charm of Uzbekistan’s civilization, history, local wisdom, and spirituality. The exhibits in each section are extremely valuable.

Seeing all the beauty, remarkable information, and historical riches of the Center is a great joy for me. From ancient times to the present day, the entire civilization of Uzbekistan is embodied here. The visual hall, and especially the section displaying the Kaaba kiswa, left a very strong impression on me. This place is also very important for Indonesian Muslim tourists. In the future, we will contribute to bringing even more people to see Uzbekistan’s great civilization, history, and culture.”

In their impressions, the guests especially noted that the richness and universal significance of the Uzbek people’s heritage are powerfully presented here through special content, visual exhibitions, and innovative displays. They also emphasized that the Islamic Civilization Center has great potential for cultural and tourism cooperation between Indonesia and Uzbekistan, stating that this visit will significantly increase tourism flows between the two countries.

Muhammad Ghazali, Regional Chairman of the Association of Umrah and Hajj Travel Agencies:

“This Center is extremely beautiful, and the way ancient civilizational heritage is harmoniously combined with modern and advanced technologies is truly impressive. When you enter here, it feels as if you are walking in that very era, as though you are traveling through the pages of history.

In the Center’s museum, the spirit of the First and Second Renaissances and the New Uzbekistan era has come to life. In my view, this is a very interesting and unique experience. Therefore, I invite my brothers in Indonesia to visit this place and see with their own eyes the development of civilization from the Stone Age to the arrival of Islam.”

Julian Ananda, Member of the Indonesian “Halal Tour” Travel Agency:

“The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is an extraordinary place. Here, a rich history is embodied, spanning from the dark ages to the golden era, that is, the periods during which Islamic civilization was formed.

This grand complex was built on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and its architecture, design, and content impress every visitor. Guests coming to Uzbekistan should definitely visit this place, because this complex is not only beautiful, but also possesses deep spiritual and historical meaning.”

At the conclusion of the visit, the heads of the delegation expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan, calling the Islamic Civilization Center “the cultural heart of Uzbekistan” and “the most advanced center in Central Asia,” and highly praising the country’s tourism potential, traditions of hospitality, and policy of preserving cultural heritage.
