LEADERS OF THE CENTRAL ASIAN AND KOREAN PARLIAMENTS VISITED THE ISLAMIC CIVILIZATION CENTER IN TASHKENT
Tashkent once again hosted a major and prestigious international event the international parliamentary dialogue. The third meeting of the heads of parliaments of the Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea took place. As part of the event, members of the delegations visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The delegation was led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva.
The participants thoroughly toured the Center’s exhibitions. They became acquainted with various exhibits reflecting the rich history of Islam and Islamic civilization, rare Qur’an manuscripts, architecture, fine calligraphy, and decorative arts. The legacy of great scholars who emerged from this land was also presented.
The modern technologies used at the Center, including interactive screens and visual solutions, attracted visitors’ interest by enabling information to be conveyed in a clear and impactful manner. It was noted that love for Islam, devotion to the homeland, respect for science, and reverence for the nation’s rich history are harmoniously combined here.
“The Islamic Civilization Center, whose construction and decoration works were recently completed, left a very strong impression on me. Here, Islam is presented as a great civilization that inspires knowledge, enlightenment, and science. The modern technologies, interactive screens, and visual solutions used at the Center convey information very clearly and effectively. It is evident that tremendous effort, deep thought, and great dedication were invested in creating this Center. Despite the current complex economic conditions, the realization of such a large-scale and spiritually significant project is commendable. This initiative will serve as an example for our region, because we share a common history and a shared civilizational heritage,” said Aigul Kuspan, Chair of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, and Security of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The Islamic Civilization Center has drawn my attention as one of the most important centers built and presented to the public in recent years. This Center comprehensively reflects the history of Islam from its earliest periods to the modern era. In particular, various copies of the Qur’an and other religious books are displayed, as well as the scientific and cultural achievements attained by the Republic of Uzbekistan during the period of independence. I personally gained a deep impression from the opportunity to become acquainted with this rich heritage and the profound scientific and spiritual significance of Islam. The Center vividly presents the activities of scholars and philosophers such as Imam Bukhari, Ibn Sina, Abu Rayhan Beruni, and other great figures who introduced their inventions and knowledge to the world earlier than European scholars during the 8th-14th centuries. Through the harmony of education, scientific heritage, and cultural wealth, this Center inspires a love for knowledge and enlightenment. At the same time, it provides an opportunity to understand and appreciate Uzbekistan’s scientific, religious, and historical heritage in a global context. Each exhibit and displayed work has been carefully selected, allowing visitors to witness not only the rich history of Islamic civilization but also its modern development,” said Sulhiddin Nido, a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan.
