Human rights advocates came face to face with a great history

Is it possible to come face to face with history and feel, in a single place, the environment of knowledge and spirituality shaped over centuries? A delegation of 20 representatives from the prosecutor’s offices of Central Asia and the South Caucasus found the answer to this question during their visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established at the initiative and vision of the President. The consistent presentation of historical periods, the cohesive content of the exhibitions, and their harmonious integration with modern technologies left a deep impression on the guests.
For the delegation members, the tour of the Center’s exhibitions began with the monumental mosaic compositions created in the Hall of Glory. These images vividly reflect the immense contribution of our great ancestors to the development of world science and culture, while the atmosphere formed in the hall clearly demonstrated the broad scope of the civilization that emerged on the land of Uzbekistan.
In the museum’s “Pre-Islamic Period” section, exhibitions dedicated to ancient civilizations, early urban culture, and displays based on archaeological findings attracted particular interest among the delegation members. Especially noteworthy was the exhibition depicting the legendary horses of the Fergana Valley.
In the First and Second Renaissance sections, the lives and scholarly heritage of great thinkers, manuscripts, and discoveries are presented in an interactive format, while information delivered through digital solutions made it possible to understand historical processes in a consistent and holistic manner.
One of the sections that attracted the greatest attention during the visit was the Holy Qur’an Hall. Here, the original Uthman Mushaf dating back to the 7th century an artifact of exceptional significance in the history of Islam is displayed, and seeing it in person was regarded by the guests as a supreme spiritual value.
Meggi Gurchiani, Prosecutor of the International Cooperation Department at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, said:
“This is my first visit to Tashkent, and especially to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. In my opinion, presenting history through such modern methods is the most appropriate approach for today. The high level of attention and care shown by President Mirziyoyev toward cultural heritage and educational development is truly commendable.
I believe this Center is a very important place for the younger generation. Today’s youth are a digital generation, and the interactive technologies used here bring them closer to history and culture. In the exhibitions, it is possible to see and feel history that was previously known only from books. I will definitely recommend this Center to others.”
Amina Kazbekova, Representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted:
“The modernity of the Center, the installations created in the museum, the interactive screens, and the use of artificial intelligence elements genuinely impressed me. The environment created here takes a person deep into the past. It feels as if you are walking through that era strolling through markets and moving along the routes of the Great Silk Road. Being this close to history is truly pleasant and impactful.”
Tilek Kudayarov, Deputy Head of the Department of International Legal Cooperation at the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, said:
“I have visited many major museums before, but this Center stands out for its scale and content. I also saw exhibitions directly related to my professional activity. In particular, the sections reflecting the constitutional and legal views of great scholars are of great importance for our field. My most important advice to young specialists is to study history deeply. This can be truly understood and felt by visiting places like this. A person should know not only their own history, but also the history of neighboring peoples, because the histories of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are closely interconnected. In recent years, the relations of friendship and brotherhood between our countries’ leaders have reached a high level, and I believe our cooperation will continue to grow in all areas.”
Fuad Huseynov, Prosecutor of the Extradition and Legal Assistance Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated:
“First of all, I would like to express my deep respect and gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for building this complex and creating an educational platform for people all over the world. At the Center, I gained very important information about the miracles mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. What amazed me most was that these miracles were referenced as early as the 7th century, and today I have the opportunity not only to hear about them, but to see them directly. I saw this with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. Previously, I had seen some historical copies of the Qur’an at the Amir Temur Museum, but here at this Center their content and essence are revealed in great depth.
This Center contains historical and spiritual exhibits that make every visitor reflect and feel awe. They encourage contemplation and touch the heart. At the same time, the connection of certain values with the Caucasus region, particularly Azerbaijan, once again reminds us of the shared history of our peoples. Today, the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and these regions are being further strengthened through culture and spirituality.”
According to the delegation’s overall conclusion, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is an important scientific and educational institution of international significance, distinguished by its rich content, broad historical coverage, and modern presentation style.
