A video feature about the Islamic Civilization Center was broadcast on the world’s leading international television networks, Euronews and CNN
It was emphasized that the principle articulated in 2017 by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev — “Islam is a religion of enlightenment, humanism, and tolerance” — serves as the cornerstone of the Center’s activities. The video also presented the Center’s ideological foundations, its unique projects, and its rich scholarly and spiritual heritage to an international audience.
The feature highlighted the Center’s delegation’s research efforts around the world, as well as initiatives aimed at repatriating lost cultural and historical heritage. In a short period of time, more than one thousand rare artifacts were returned to Uzbekistan, while nearly another thousand exhibits were donated to the Center’s collection by generous benefactors and art dealers.
The report also provides information about the children’s museum within the Center, a library housing more than 200,000 manuscripts, and unique historical relics, including the Uthman Mushaf dating back to the 7th century, which is inscribed on UNESCO’s “Memory of the World” Register.
Special emphasis is placed on the particular attention given by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the preservation of historical and scholarly heritage and to the repatriation of manuscripts to the homeland. It is noted that the Center is scheduled to open its doors to the public in the near future.
The video feature broadcast on Euronews and CNN serves to introduce the Islamic Civilization Center to the global community as an educational and cultural symbol of modern Uzbekistan.
