As part of the visit, the guests toured the Center’s main entrance hall, where they became closely acquainted with mosaic arches depicting the lives of great scholars and their discoveries. The opportunity to hear about these scholars’ achievements in their own voices through avatars sparked particular interest among the visitors.

The Museum of the Center features exhibitions organized into four sections, in which the process of civilization from ancient times to the present day is presented in a coherent and systematic manner.

In the section dedicated to the First Renaissance period, spanning the 9th to the 13th centuries, historical figures, their roles in societal development, and achievements in architecture and science are showcased through video materials, photographs, and authentic artifacts. This allowed visitors to closely experience the atmosphere of the era, and they explored all the capsules with great interest.

In the Museum’s Second Renaissance section, visitors became acquainted with rare exhibits related to the historical stages of the Timurid and khanate periods, which ruled from the 14th to the 19th centuries. In particular, copies of the Holy Qur’an commissioned at the initiative of Sahibqiran Amir Timur, historical waqf documents, the scholarly legacy associated with Ulughbeg observatory, as well as sword exhibits from the khanate era, attracted great interest among the guests.

The initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in establishing the Center, along with the high professional standard at which the project has been implemented, was especially acknowledged.

“This is a truly great and remarkable idea. I would like to express my deep respect to your President for this initiative. The Center is making Uzbekistan more visible on the world map and will give a strong boost to the country’s tourism. This is a far-sighted, bold, and strategic initiative. We all know how vast the Islamic world is, and I am convinced that the fact that such a major Center is located precisely in Uzbekistan, in the city of Tashkent, will significantly stimulate tourism. As a result, traveling to this country will become even more interesting and attractive. Of course, there are many reasons to visit Uzbekistan, but I believe that the Islamic Civilization Center will be one of the key factors drawing tourists here.

Moreover, not only for people from the Islamic world, but also for followers of other religions for example, Christians like us, Orthodox and Catholics — the Islamic world is extremely fascinating. We want to better understand how it spread across the world and what role it has played in culture and history. Therefore, coming to Tashkent and seeing all of this with our own eyes will be a very engaging and meaningful experience for us as well,” said Lasha Machavariani.

The guest also became acquainted with the Center’s “New Uzbekistan – The Foundation of a New Renaissance” section, where he received information about Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, cultural development, and its position on the international stage. The modern multimedia solutions and scholarly-educational developments sparked particular interest among the visitor.

At the same time, the guest paid special attention to the development of the sports sector in Uzbekistan and expressed his intention to contribute to this process by supporting sports and by launching an Uzbek-language edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport.
