The buildings in Oman were modeled after the decorative elements of the Mir Arab Madrasa in Bukhara

Abdusalom Khatamov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Sultanate of Oman, visited the Center of Islamic Civilization. A meeting was held between the esteemed guest and the Director of the Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov. The discussion focused on cooperation within the framework of the upcoming international exhibition and other significant events planned in connection with the grand opening of Uzbekistan’s megaproject — the Center of Islamic Civilization.

A facsimile copy of a decree issued by Babur will be prepared

A facsimile copy of a decree issued by Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur will be prepared for the exhibition at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. This decree was written on the 13th (or possibly the 30th) of the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah in the year 933 AH (August 1527 CE), a few months after Babur's decisive victory over Rana Sanga of Mewar and his allies at the Battle of Khanwa in March 1527.

A bronze coin dating back to the 6th century was discovered near Tashkent

During archaeological excavations near Tashkent, a rare bronze coin dating back to the 6th century was discovered. The coin bears an inscription in Sogdian script reading “Twrk xʼγʼn” – meaning “Turk Khagan” – which is believed to be the earliest known use of the word "Turk" in recorded history.
