Frederic Bressan
President of the Association for the Study of History and Art of the Timurid
I am truly amazed, because I never expected to see such a dedicated hall. I was especially proud to see the logo of the Timurid Society. This association has been active for many years. What impressed me most is that it began as a modest initiative and has continued its work steadily for 37 years. All of this is connected with the legacy of Amir Temur and the Timurids. I hold Mirzo Ulugbek in particularly high esteem. We have been actively promoting the Timurid heritage in France, Europe, and United States of America. To this end, numerous academic conferences, research projects, and cultural events have been organized. Today, I am delighted to see that such a modern center has been established in Uzbekistan.
The exhibitions and presentations at the Center are meticulously organized and maintained at a very high standard. This place attracts many visitors and leaves a profound impression on them. The rare exhibits and rich heritage displayed here are truly worthy of the highest praise. At the same time, the association is continuing its work on a book entitled “Passion Ouzbékistan” (“Love for Uzbekistan”). This publication is intended to summarize the activities carried out over the past 30 years and to highlight the friendship and cooperation between the Uzbek and French peoples. The opportunities created today to present this rich heritage to the world bring me great joy.
