Uzbekistan is reintroducing its history: The French delegation highly praised the Center

The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established in Tashkent, is becoming not only a venue showcasing historical heritage but also an important platform for developing international cooperation. The visit of the French delegation to this institution once again confirmed this.

As part of the visit, a delegation consisting of representatives from the Chambers of Commerce of France and Uzbekistan closely became acquainted with the Center’s exhibitions. The delegation members highly appreciated the scientific-conceptual content of the museum as well as its modern presentation methods.

The tour, which began with the “Gallery of Great Figures,” featuring mosaic-style portraits of renowned scholars, sparked great interest among the guests. They particularly noted that this artwork, located at the entrance of the Center, creates a strong impression and emotional response in visitors from the very first moments.

In the section dedicated to the pre-Islamic period, the history of the Great Silk Road attracted the delegation’s attention. In particular, a vessel from the 8th century depicting a winged camel drew significant interest and was highly valued as a symbolic representation of ancient trade and cultural connections.

In the First Renaissance section, information about Abu Rayhan Beruni’s globe made a strong impression on the guests. They emphasized that this scientific legacy serves as clear evidence that great scholars who made significant contributions to world civilization emerged from the land of Uzbekistan. They also noted that the six capsules in this section, presenting the history of scholars who contributed to the formation and development of Islamic civilization, play an important role in expanding visitors’ knowledge.

Tiphaine Mane, Deputy Head of the Economic Representation for Uzbekistan and Tajikistan:

The museum of the Islamic Civilization Center is very impressive. I have seen many archaeological monuments related to Uzbekistan’s history, but this place stands out due to its rich exhibitions and presentation.

The exhibits are presented in a very clear and well-structured manner. Unique finds from regions such as Khorezm, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, and Termez are displayed here. It is also noteworthy that some of these were identified and restored by the French archaeological mission.

Overall, this initiative helps Uzbek society gain a deeper understanding of its history. The Center is very large and rich in content. The interactive approach, in particular, allows young people to learn history in an engaging and accessible way.

At the same time, this place is also very important for tourists, as it offers one of the most effective ways to explore Uzbekistan’s rich archaeological heritage and history.

In the Second Renaissance section, the diplomacy of the Timurid era generated great interest among the guests. In particular, the content of a letter sent by King Charles VI of France to Amir Temur created the impression for the delegation members as if they were directly witnessing historical events.

In the “New Uzbekistan — Foundation of the New Renaissance” section, the country’s current stage of development and strategic plans up to 2050 were presented. The guests highly appreciated these achievements and forward-looking plans, expressing confidence that the foundation for the Third Renaissance is being created in Uzbekistan.

Jean-Claude Beaujean, former Belgian diplomat:

I am from Belgium and have been living here for quite some time. I am very pleased to see such a beautiful museum. Coming here and experiencing the history of Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan, has left a strong emotional impression on me.

There were several important reasons for my visit, and I had high expectations beforehand. The museum at Amir Temur Square is very beautiful, but this Center reflects both the ancient and modern image of Uzbekistan in a broader and deeper way.

Most importantly, we feel very comfortable in Uzbekistan. It brings us great joy to see a country that values its history and culture and looks confidently toward the future.

Through the Qur’an Hall, the guests noted that the deep respect for Islam in Uzbekistan plays an important role in the country’s spiritual stability. They also highly appreciated the architectural design of the hall and its modern mapping technologies, noting that such solutions are rarely found even in other countries.

At the conclusion of the visit, the France – Uzbekistan delegation emphasized that the Islamic Civilization Center serves as a modern scientific and educational platform and plays an important role in further developing international cooperation.
