A Khotan carpet with a two-hundred-year history has been presented to the museum exhibition of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. This valuable artifact was gifted by the Museum of Islamic Studies in the UK, on behalf of the Cambridge Centre for Russian Studies, during the international forum “The Legacy of the Great Past — the Basis of an Enlightened Future” held in Tashkent.

At the prestigious international forum “The Legacy of the Great Past — the Basis of an Enlightened Future” held in Tashkent, the Center for Islamic Civilization was further enriched with unique artifacts.

To be honest, I was very pleased to participate in the International Expert Forum. This forum brought together many specialists, researchers, and experts in the fields of Islamic civilization, museology, and history. I believe that such meetings should be held regularly in the future, so that useful recommendations can be developed for the Center.

During the forum “The Legacy of the Great Past – the Foundation of an Enlightened Future” held in Tashkent, an important cultural event took place. As part of the forum’s program, a ceremony was held to present unique exhibits from Britain to the Center for Islamic Civilization. Among these was a rare artifact from the MOMTAZ ISLAMIC ART collection dating back to the early 18th century.
