In the Qur’an Hall section of the Museum of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the “114 Qur’ans” project of great scholarly and spiritual significance is being implemented. The main goal of the project is to select Qur’an manuscripts preserved in museums and archives around the world that are connected to Uzbekistan’s historical heritage and present them to the wider public.

At the latest meeting of the Academic Council held at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, a number of rare exhibits presented by citizens for the Center’s exposition were discussed. The meeting evaluated ancient manuscripts, Qur’an copies, and historical documents from scientific, historical, and aesthetic perspectives.

Every nation’s memory, past, and pride are reflected in its historical heritage. Among such sources, inscriptions carved into stone particularly express the spiritual world, political thinking, and moral legacy of a people in the deepest sense. One such precious monument is the “Bitik-tosh” (Inscribed Stone) dating back to the era of Amir Temur, weighing two tons. This historical artifact was discovered in present-day Kazakhstan, and currently, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is working on preparing a facsimile (replica) of it.

A new round of scholarly discussions was held regarding the structure and conceptual content of the exhibition dedicated to the “First Renaissance” period, planned to be housed at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
