How are ancient manuscripts preserved, and what consequences can incorrect restoration lead to? At a training seminar held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, dedicated to the conservation and restoration of ancient written sources, specialists in the field exchanged views on advanced practices and pressing challenges in this area.

Two rare examples of the most responsible and sacred trusts in Islamic history are today featured in the exposition of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. They lead visitors on a spiritual journey that begins in Mecca al-Mukarrama and embraces the entirety of Islamic history.

The “Amir Temur Sector,” established within the “Second Renaissance Period” section of the Islamic Civilization Center Museum, takes visitors on a journey into the era of the great Sahibqiran. An interactive map, rare manuscripts, architectural models, and an artificial intelligence–based avatar make the exhibition even more vivid.

One of the core missions of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan is to restore lost heritage. The reconstruction of al-Biruni’s globe, which has not survived to our time, became a practical embodiment of this mission.
