The greatest force that elevates society is knowledge and spirituality. The modern library of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, occupies an area of 3,105 square meters and is designed to accommodate 266 readers. Today, it has become one of the key scientific and educational institutions tasked with systematically collecting this heritage and transmitting it to the new generation.

A Buddha statue, a Christian cross-amulet, traces of Zoroastrianism, and examples of Islamic architecture — these are not foreign to one another, but layers of history intertwined on the same land. For centuries, Movarounnahr developed as a region where different religions and cultures coexisted peacefully. Tolerance here was not a slogan, but a way of life. Today, this multilayered history can be seen within a unified concept in the exhibitions of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, built on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and expected to open in the near future.

The delegation of the Asian Development Bank that visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan was deeply impressed by the interactive maps, 3D historical interpretations, and virtual experiences presented in the exhibitions.

On February 28, 2026, the leadership of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan received an official letter from Paris from the selection committee of the prestigious international architectural award — Prix Versailles. The letter announced that the Islamic Civilization Center had been included in the global list of the world’s most beautiful museums for 2026. This ranking is formed based on strict criteria such as innovation, creative approach, reflection of national heritage, and environmental efficiency. In his letter, Prix Versailles Secretary-General Jérôme Gouadain extended sincere congratulations on this selection and also provided official instructions confirming the Center’s participation in the 2026 list.
