According to Smithsonian Magazine — the official publication of the Smithsonian Institution in the United States — the Islamic Civilization Center being built in Tashkent has been recognized as one of the world’s ten most highly anticipated museums for 2026. Founded in 1970, the magazine is an internationally respected popular-science publication in the fields of science, history, culture, and museology. Inclusion in its rankings is regarded as a sign of top-tier global expert recognition for major projects.

A delegation led by Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the Turkic Culture Organization (TURKSOY), paid a visit to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The high-ranking guest was received by the Center’s Director, Firdavs Abdukhalikov.

The second meeting of the Expanded Scientific Council was held at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Scientific Council and Director of the Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, was attended by Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Bahrom Abduhalimov, Chairman of the Khorezm Mamun Academy Ikrom Abdullayev, a number of other members of the Scientific Council, leading scholars, experts, as well as employees of the Center.

Built over eight years, the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan today attracts attention not only as a monumental architectural complex but also as a scientific and educational space embodying the efforts of hundreds of scholars. The unique objects of our historical heritage and rare artifacts displayed in the museum’s exhibitions further heighten this interest.
